Careers

There's no team.
There's me.

Applegate AI is a one-person business, and that's a choice, not something I'm hiding. I'm not hiring right now, but this page is still worth a minute. It explains how the business actually runs.

A note from Ethan

Founder, Applegate AI

Most agency websites have a careers page full of open roles and team photos. I'd rather be honest with you: there's one person here, and it's me.

I scope every project, build every system and answer every email myself. That's deliberate. The businesses I work with want to speak to the person who actually understands their setup, not whoever happens to be on shift.

If the business grows to the point where adding someone would make the work better, not just bigger, I'll post the role here first.

Why it's just me

Clients talk to the builder

Whoever you speak to on the first call is the person who builds your system. Nothing gets lost in translation.

Decisions in minutes, not meetings

There's nobody to sign things off. If something needs changing, I change it.

Nowhere to hide

Every system has my name on it. That keeps the standard high, because there's no one else to blame.

Built in Norwich

Everything is built here, by me. Nothing is outsourced, and if you're local we can meet in person.

How a project actually runs

Four stages. One person at every one of them.

  1. 1

    The first call

You talk to me about how your business runs and where the time goes. No sales script.

  2. 2

    The build

I design and build the system myself, and keep you updated directly as it comes together.

  3. 3

    Go live

I launch it and watch it closely in the first weeks, fixing anything that doesn't behave the way it should.

  4. 4

    Looking after it

I keep monitoring and improving it as your business changes. Same person, same number, for as long as we work together.

I'm not hiring at the moment, and there are no open roles.

Want to work together anyway?

I'm always happy to hear from freelancers, developers and agencies who'd like to collaborate on a project. Tell me what you're good at and what you have in mind.
